Michael O’Leary’s latest sale is nothing but a cynical attempt to buy a Yes vote in the Lisbon referedum. It is a disgusting attempt by Ryanair to avoid addressing the real issues in the Treaty, by bribing voters throughout the country.
But this gimmick will not be lost on the ordinary working people of Ireland who are only too aware of the vicious anti-union, anti-worker practices of Ryanair.
It is no accident that the likes of Ryanair and IBEC have come out in strong support of a Yes vote. Big business stands to make massive profits out of the vicious “race to the bottom” in workers’ conditions that is enshrined in the Lisbon Treaty, as I have outlined in my post on Lisbon & Workers Rights.
